U ndergraduate R esearch F unding A pplication

Just after Dr Savka's lab, I sent 'My Contribution' of Dr Pough's proposal back to Dr Pough. I hope what I have written would be accepted so that Dr Pough can straight away submit the application to Dr Morrill. It is for funding application for summer research. I hope that he will accept the title of the project, 'Expedition of Discovering Terresterial Isopods in and around RIT Campus'. As you can see, the project is to collect the type of unknown species of insects which are residing in RIT area. So far, I am the only one who are interested in this project. Not many students like the idea of dealing with bugs. Somehow, I am special (praise the Lord) in such that I am not afraid of insects but really fascinated by them. If my application is being choosen, I will be paid for my full time research worth $3000. I will be even more grateful if I am being provided with a housing for the summer. That way I can save my allowance to go back to Malaysia during Chinese New Year. Well, I am still grateful as long as I get either one. Leave it up to Him and for now, I have concentrate on my study for upcoming Tissue Culture exam. This week, tissue culture lab is said to be the first ever conducted in RIT. It is called Cell transfection. I am not sure how the procedure works but I can't wait to see how it works.
